Like all great modern love stories... ours started with a right swipe on hinge. After a few weeks of messaging back and forth, we decided to meet up at one of Bethany's favorite restaurants, Apple Annie's. Devon gave Bethany butterflies and Bethany made Devon laugh. Things were off to a great start. The night ended with a touch of snowflakes falling while we were talking in the parking lot after dinner. Bethany loves snow, so this was a good sign. Over the course of our relationship we have enjoyed many adventures. We spend our time running, riding bikes, and road tripping together. Our favorite dates include a Sunday long run together followed by coffee at Winnie's. No matter the task, we genuinely just love to be in each other's company. Fast forward a year after becoming "official". We took a weekend getaway road trip to Washington D.C.. Bethany had her suspicions that this was going to be the trip where Devon proposed. However, nothing happened at any of the touristy sights and nothing happened at our nice dinner either. After coming back to the hotel room, Bethany thought she might have been wrong, but then Devon suggested one more walk. It was cold and I was already changed into my pajamas but she obliged. DC is beautiful at night. Cherry blossoms were in bloom and the capitol building was lit up. There in front of the capital with just the two of us, Devon got down on one knee. It was simple and beautiful and 100% us. We’re so excited to begin our marriage. We look forward to seeing you all and celebrating our love surrounded by our friends and family.
