Well that depends on who you ask... Zach: I met Delaney briefly through our mutual friends, Sarah and Brayden. A few days later, I started teaching country dancing on the roof of the GCU parking garage with some friends. Delaney showed up and I thought she was pretty cute, so I asked her to dance at least a dozen times. Then we had a couple more dance nights, I danced with her a few dozen more times, asked her out, and the rest is history! Delaney: After we were initially introduced, I was invited to a swing dancing night on top of the parking garage (shoutout Sarah) despite having no clue whatsoever how to swing dance. Zach was teaching a group of people some basic dance moves and made a passing comment about how asking a girl to dance doesn't really mean anything. He then proceeded to ask me to dance like 12 times and wondered why I didn't take the hint... but I eventually figured it out, and now here we are!
Our first date started as a casual coffee date at Snakes & Lattes in Tempe. After talking for several hours, we were having a lot of fun so we went to The Hole in the Rock, and to get dinner and pizookie at BJs. The casual coffee date ended up turning into a seven-hour long date...
The proposal didn't quite go as planned... but she said yes!
We cannot wait to celebrate our love and our future with you!
