We would prefer a certain level of stylishness. Jacket and tie for men, suitably appropriate accompaniment for women. The weather in August should be somewhere between warm and hot, though temperatures have been known to dip in the evening. A light sweater might be in order.
Yes. Shoes are a good idea. (That was a joke, BTW). Because there will be some walking involved on grass, high heels, especially spike heels are contraindicated. Sensible shoes would therefore be in order. This same advice also applies to female guests.
Just follow the signs. Parking will be available in our Mary's Folly Vineyard, necessitating a short walk to the wedding site. There will be vehicles available to transport those unable to walk the required distance.
If all goes well, the ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm. The reception will ensue shortly after the ceremony has included.
As things currently stand, we expect seating to be open, and service to be family style. (Family style means the food will be served on a single platter. It doesn't mean we expect everybody to argue with each other and scream insults).
We haven't registered anywhere, and we don't expect a pile of gifts. However, if you feel compelled to give something, we would appreciate a contribution toward our honeymoon. At present our plans are in flux. We hope to take a short cycling honeymoon shortly after the wedding, making a ride to Grand Rapids. Later in the season, after harvest, we would like to go on a longer trip. We haven't decided where yet. Renee insists our destination be someplace neither of us have been before. Given the extent of our previous travels, that means our potential destinations are limited to a mere 90 - 95% of the world.
