Museum District
The Menil Collection, surrounding park and the Rothko Chapel, are Houston gems and one of our favorite places to go on an afternoon. We also love the Museum of Fine Arts, the Contemporary Arts Museum, Hermann Park and the Children's Museum all in the same neighborhood. Pop in to Grand Prize for a drink in the area....we 've spent much time at this bar.
Giant Leap Coffee
Lauren (along with her friends Logan and Eric) own this coffee shop in Houston's East End! Will's siblings Devin and Peter also own and operate the office building it's in! Stop by and tell them you're here for our wedding for a friends and family discount!
The Raven Tower
This is where we had our first date! It's a great spot to sit outside and have a drink. If you're lucky the tower will be open which has some of the best skyline views.
Antidote
We love Antidote. Cozy little comfort coffeeshop, perfect for run ins with our friends and neighbors.
Captain Foxheart's Bad News Bar & Spirit Lodge
If we're going out out- we'll probably head to Main street. We love La Carafe (the oldest bar in town), Warren's, Bad News, Watch Company, Little Dipper, Okra...you pretty much can't go wrong. Bad News has great cocktails and a balcony overlooking the whole stretch.
Coltivare Pizza & Garden
Coltivare, owned by our friend Morgan, is one of our favorite places for a delicious, fresh, impressive dinner. Eat here.
Axelrad Beer Garden
Axelrad is a favorite for afternoon drinks, hammock swinging, or catching local music. Will, and many of our friends, play here often. It's fun!
Buffalo Bayou Park
Biking or walking along the bayou is top of the list for Houston activities. We both spent lots of time around the bayous as young'ns, got engaged on Buffalo and all 7 (!) bayous hold real soft spots in our <3's.
Montrose
Montrose is the historical center of the LGBTQ community in Houston. We love Poison Girl, Lola's, brunch/coffee at Brasil, and shopping at Space.
