In 2015 Rikki was working as a barista where Eddie regularly stopped in to get a drink before his shift as an off duty officer. Rarely, did they ever see each other until one day they did. Neither of them were really looking for a relationship at the time but they both were immediately attracted to one another. As all of the other baristas day dreamed when Eddie walked in the door, Rikki usually kept to herself or managed to catch herself in a clumsy act. Word got around that Rikki thought Eddie was so handsome & all the other baristas began to talk about it, unknowingly a co worker thought the same thing. As a dare, Rikki took a leap on the more daring side & did something she had never done before, she took a drink to Eddie’s work with her number on it, practically forced it in his hands and ran off. Days went by and no contact between the two, Rikki felt defeated. Rikki had no idea Eddie was also in the military reserves & was gone on an order. He returned days later & Rikki avoided him like the plague. Shortly after Eddie reached out to Rikki and they both agreed a friendship was in favor for the both of them.
Weeks passed, Rikki and her best friend Justine took a spontaneous trip to San Francisco where Eddie was on Duty, Rikki had no idea. Justine & Rikki made it to union square & Eddie was clear across the city. Rikki’s phone was low on battery & Eddie wasn’t okay with it. So he drove 30 minutes across the city, pulled up in traffic jumped out of his patrol car and gave Rikki a portable charger & some cash. Rikki demanded not to take his money, while Justine had Cheesecake Factory on the mind. So they snatched the money & portable charger & headed out on a girls dinner. Justine was already making her way to Cheesecake Factory as Rikki & Eddie hugged a little longer than normal. Long story short, Justine and Rikki jumped on bart to head back to Dublin managing to get on the wrong train about three times only to miss the last train. Eddie was on the phone directing them as best as he could when they ran up the stairs only to see that the last train left 3 minutes before. Rikki and Justine were stranded in Oakland, freaking out was an understatement. As Rikki panicked on the phone, who to call, how they were going to get home, Eddie couldn’t get two words in until finally he forced out “I had a feeling this was going to happen, something didn’t feel right earlier when you first said you were “lost” so I left work early I’m downstairs I will give you guys a ride back to Dublin.” Justine took off running and practically dived in the back of the police car, and we safely made it back to Dublin and on our way home. Eddie ended the night by saying “you know you owe me a date now right?” And the rest is history....
September 4th 2016 Eddie and Rikki legally said “I do” alongside their parents, immediate family & before God. At the time the dream wedding & honeymoon was not in the books for them but one thing was for certain, they wanted to be man & wife before they moved in together. There was only one thing missing that day and that something was you. Eddie & Rikki have dreamed of what a fairytale wedding looks like and March 2019 they are finally making that dream a reality thanks to many incredible people in their life. This is a milestone they never had & they are beyond words that they get to do this with you. “If we have learned anything over the years, in tragedy, loss, setbacks, life doesn’t stop and if you stop you miss out on your special moments in your own life. This is one special moment we won’t let get away from us...”
