How We Met

April 2011

I am sure you’ve heard all of Jose’s crazy stories on how we met. In reality we met at a wedding. We were sitting in the same table and were introduced by his cousin. The conversations and vibes were great! We ended up dancing til the party ended. We became friends on Facebook and started seeing each other at other parties. After almost 2 years of talking and randomly seeing each other, we had our first official date. Originally we were going to catch a movie but we ended up at Arden Mall. We walked around and bought Jamba Juice. As Jose drove me home, we talked about our jobs and he joked that I should invite him out to eat. “Con que sea un Happy Meal de McDonald’s” A month later, Jose calls me and randomly asks me if I wanted to be his quince partner for his cousin’s quince. I accepted and we’ve been dance partners since then.

The Proposal

May 2, 2021

I had planned out a double date with my photographer friend. This day was going to be super casual. We were going to get dinner and meet her new man. A week before this double date my friend asked me if we can do a photoshoot at a new location she wanted to try out. I didn’t think anything suspicious about it. She gave me an idea of what vibe she wanted to accomplish in this shoot. The day of the proposal we met up at a brewery in Folsom. The place was packed. It took over an hour wait to get seated. During our photoshoot, my friend said she wanted to try something new and asked me to stand in front of Jose. She had Jose walk a couple of steps behind me. After a few minutes, she asked me to turn around and Jose was on one knee. We couldn’t stop smiling. I said "YES," and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
