Travel Note
Most Princeton University parking lots are open to the public on weekends. The closest one to the Princeton Chapel is Lot 10: https://goo.gl/maps/1AjxJXumoCo5BFEk6 If Lot 10 is full, right across the street from it is Lot 13, and if that's full, ten minutes walk down Washington St there are a series of much larger parking lots (Lot 14, 25, 4, and 5): https://goo.gl/maps/NyFrkBfWzoxbX33GA These may all be full Saturday afternoon due to the homecoming game at Princeton stadium starting 1 pm. If the northern lots are all filled, you may need to try the visitors parking lot (Lot 23), which is a 15 minute walk (up hill) from the chapel: https://goo.gl/maps/kKM1iAJXq9nHxQyR9 This lot is open during weekdays as well. Note: it is possible to drive up directly to the front of the Chapel to drop off anyone with walking difficulties - simply ask the guard at the gate on Elm street for a temporary parking pass, and they usually give you 15 minutes to park in front of the Chapel.
Flight
The easiest way to fly into Princeton is through Newark International Airport, which is connected with its little AirTrain track to the regional train network which runs trains down to Princeton every half hour or so. All in all, the train takes roughly 1-1.5 hours (depending on train times) and costs $19/passenger. Driving takes roughly the same amount of time (45 minutes - 1.5 hours) depending on traffic and Uber estimates it at $55/car, so Ubering might be a better option for companies of 3 or more. For the travel by train: take the AirTrain to "Newark International Airport Station" (about 5-10 minutes), then take the Northeast Corridor towards "Trenton Transit Center" (about 50 minutes) and get off at Princeton Junction, from where a small side train called the "Dinky" takes you the extra 5 minutes into Princeton University. To save the annoyance of buying an extra Dinky ticket, be sure to choose your final NJ Transit destination as "Princeton" and not "Princeton Junction".
Flight
The next closest flight hub to Princeton is the Philadelphia International Airport, which is about a 50 - 70 minute drive away and roughly $85 as estimated by Uber. If traveling by train, from the airport take the Airport Line to 30th Street Station and from there Amtrak all the way to Princeton Junction or the regional train (SEPTA regional rail) towards Trenton Transit Center, getting off there, and transferring to NJ transit (the "Northeast Corridor") towards NYC Penn Station, getting off at Princeton Junction. From Princeton Junction you can take the Princeton Dinky the extra 5 minutes into Princeton University. Taking SEPTA is confusing and not recommended, while Amtrak is quite easy but expensive. If you are traveling through Philly, please reach out to us and we will try to arrange a ride for you.
Train
Princeton Junction Train Station is services by both NJ Transit and Amtrak, making it easily accessible from any major city along the North East. From NYC, you can take either Amtrak or NJ Transit (much cheaper) from NYC Penn Station (not to be confused with Newark Penn Station, which is the next stop on the New Jersey side) towards Trenton Transit Center, getting off at Princeton Junction. From Philadelphia, you can take Amtrak or the regional train (SEPTA regional rail) towards Trenton Transit Center, getting off there, and transferring to NJ transit (the "Northeast Corridor") towards NYC Penn Station, getting off at Princeton Junction. Taking SEPTA is confusing and not recommended. At Princeton Junction, there is a small side line called the "Dinky" which takes you the extra 5 minutes into Princeton University. It is operated by NJ Transit, so if you are traveling by Amtrak, you will need to also buy a Dinky ticket at Princeton Junction towards "Princeton".
