Mike and Alex's love story begins in a hairdresser’s chair. The mother of the bride Cathy was getting her hair done by long time friend Marie. When she then asks Marie, like any good Italian mother would, "Do you know any nice boys for my daughter?" Marie told her she did have one good man in mind. That good man was Michael. After a few days of Cathy asking Alex if she could pass her phone number along, Alex finally said yes. Mike and Alex start texting. They deicide to set a date to meet at the Fine Grind in Little Falls, NJ. As you can imagine they are both nervous since this is practically a blind date. It was a cold December night in 2019, Alex arrives and "hopped" into the coffee shop as Mike likes to say. Alex anxiously drinks four pots of herbal tea, as Mike sips on his ONE americano. They talk, laugh and listen to the classic rock cover band. Alex thinks she's testing Mike when a Johnny Cash song comes on and asked naively "Do you know who this is?" Mike of course answering with no hesitation. They talked until the coffee shop asked them to leave. They felt as if they knew each other for a lifetime. I guess that's what true love feels like, your soul recognizes the other and kind of says, "There you've been." Fast forward, the pandemic hits. Mike and Alex take to the mountains to camp, fish, hike and escape. Their world was coming together. Their next trip was set for June 2021 to Shenandoah National Park, VA. They arrive at Shenandoah - Alex is clearly too excited and oblivious to realize what's going to happen over the next couple of days. We know this because she drove into the park with the truck's gas tank on E. Mike and Alex hike to the park's highest peak. At that beautiful peak is where Mike asks Alex to be his bride. The rest feels like effortless history in the making.
