Question

What Travel Documents Will I Need?

Answer

For our US friends and family: Royal Caribbean strongly recommends that all guests travel with a valid passport. Passports must be valid at least 6 months after your cruise ends. Alternatively you can use an Original U.S. Birth Certificate AND Valid Government Issued ID (State ID Card, Driver’s License OR Military ID). Guests age 15 and under are NOT required to have a photo ID, just the birth certificate. For our Mexico friends and family: You must have a valid Mexican passport that must be valid at least 6 months after your cruise ends. Additionally, you will need your valid Visa or Travel Permit. Please check with the cruise line directly to ensure you have all the documents you need to set sail! Question

When should I expect to arrive in Miami for embarkation?

Answer

We would strongly recommend our out-of-state and out-of-country guests to arrive at least the day prior to embarkation. This would mean arriving in Miami on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The embarkation process will be expected to start late morning to early afternoon on Friday, April 17, 2026. If you are driving from the Tampa Bay Area the day of please allow ample time for traffic, parking, and any unexpected delays! Note* We have seen reports of potentially significant traffic delays due to construction in the area so please check your gps and plan accordingly!

Question

What hotels are close to PortMiami and how should I get there?

Answer

PortMiami is about 30 minutes away from the Miami airport and located near the downtown area - lots to do and explore! There are many options for hotels in various price ranges in the area and some have shuttles to the cruise port with some also offering shuttles from the airport. We are staying at the Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell by IHG on Thursday night as we like the Brickell area and it was moderately priced. Please note that we did not book a room block due to the many different options available! Please see this listing of hotels with shuttles! https://allcruisehotels.com/blog/port-miami-hotels-cruise-shuttle/ If you are driving your own vehicle to the port, parking garages and lots are conveniently located at all the cruise terminals. Long-term parking starts at around $25 per night. We have chosen to reserve a spot in the Royal Caribbean garage for $35 a night and payment can be made ahead of time here: https://www.royalmiamiparking.com A comprehensive guide to Port Miami can be found here! https://allcruisehotels.com/blog/miami-cruise-port-guide/#parking

Question

What is the cruise check-in process like?

Answer

Online check-in can be completed 45 days before your sail date but no later than 48 hours before setting sail. This is where you’ll input your passport information (if you have one), your legal name, birthday, and address, you will also enter your credit card information which will tie to your SeaPass card. Your SeaPass card acts as a credit card onboard as well as your room key. At the end of the cruise, your personal SeaPass card will charge the total amount of all purchases you made while onboard at the casino, spa, specialty dining, photo gallery, or on drinks (if you did not purchase a drink package). You will also choose a check-in time to board the cruise ship during this process. It is best to arrive at the cruise port terminal around this time for a smooth check-in. After completing online check-in, you can print out your luggage tags and boarding pass. 1 luggage tag per bag is required.
