Connor and Mary met in Boulder in 2012, while hanging out with mutual friends at a bar called Catacombs, underneath the Boulderado Hotel. Mary remembers seeing Connor for the first time before that night at another one of their favorite local bars, The Pub. Connor and Mary both fell for eachother hard, Connor said that Mary was beautiful, and she looked fun, everyone in the room wanted to talk to or be around her. Mary’s feelings were incredibly similar, she thought Connor was the most gorgeous guy she had ever met, and his personality lit up the room, and his smile was infectious, he was magnetic. The two took their time getting to know each other and building a bond and friendship that showed support and acceptance like they had never experienced. The more time they spent together the harder it was to spend time away from each other. When Mary was living in Broomfield in a small apartment with Dylan, Connor would often take the bus out to Broomfield and walk to her apartment after work, and do the same in the morning, very early! Eventually the two couldn’t stand not waking up next to each other and decided to move in together. After a year and a half of renting the two started the journey to find a place to call Home and make their own. They found a perfect place for them and Dylan to grow as a family in. One of their favorite spots in their home is the Bonfire pit. It was on New Years Eve that Connor convinced Mary to put on her warm clothes and come out to the Bonfire and enjoy the snowfall. After some hesitation (it was very cold!) Mary finally came outside and sat down next to Connor. They warmed up and snuggled as a family by the fire in their new Home, and Connor turned to Mary, got down on one knee, and asked her (and Dylan) to become Mitchell’s.
