We fell in love the way you fall asleep, slowly and then all at once. We met in mid October of 2014 at Southeastern University after he got a job working for my mom of all people! After a few weeks of chatting and getting to know each other, we were inseparable. We were off and on for several years, and we both had a lot of things to learn and figure out. Even when we were apart, our hearts were only for each other. In late February of 2018, we decided to fully pursue each other one last time. There were some trying times we endured to get to where we are. On Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 at approximately 9:30 PM, Isaac asked me to be his wife, and I said "YES"! We have always been so in love, but now our dream is becoming a reality! Thank you to all who have/are/will be supporting us and helping us as we take this next step in our journey to becoming Mr. and Mrs. Garcia!
In August of 2014, Isaac moved to Lakeland, Florida to attend SEU where Nicole had already been attending for a year. Soon after arriving to Florida, Isaac began working on campus for Nicole's mother, Jennifer. She introduced Nicole to Isaac as she had many times in the past with many other student workers. Isaac's first impression was that Nicole was "cute but too sassy". Her first impression of Isaac was that he was "so weird!". Isaac was unable to fly home to California that Thanksgiving break, so he spent it with Nicole and her family (which was normal for students who had no where to go or were unable to go home for the holidays). After much time spent pursuing, Isaac finally gained Nicole's affection. They spent almost every night together during the first two weeks of December. After those two weeks were up, Isaac went home to California for Christmas break. While Isaac was in Cali, his heart was in Florida.
On December 18, 2015, Isaac asked Nicole to be his girlfriend. She said "Yes!" Exactly 3 years later, Nicole unknowingly wore the same dress to Isaac's work Christmas party. This night was filled with games, laughter, dinner, fellowship, and Christmas cheer! The final game of the evening was a scavenger hunt in which everyone was instructed to pair off into groups of two to find the worker's Christmas bonus. Each team was given a riddle to solve, and one member had to be blindfolded and guided by the other. Isaac asked Nicole if he could guide her, and she agreed! Their riddle described a tree. After much fumbling around the Christmas tree in the living room and not finding the envelope, Isaac guided Nicole to the tree outside in the backyard. After reaching the tree, Isaac asked Nicole to wait as he went ahead to see if they had found what they were looking for. After a moment of silence, Nicole heard a guitar playing somewhere in front of her. She became giddy and asked him if he was the one playing. A few seconds after he said "yes", he began singing their favorite song at the time--"Never Enough" by Loren Alfred from the movie/musical "The Greatest Showman". After the first few lines, Nicole took her blindfold off to see a breathtaking view of Christmas lights everywhere. She then realized that her whole family and a few friends were standing behind her. As Isaac was finishing the song, he integrated a line from "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presely. He ended the song in tears. Isaac then set the guitar down, and walked over to hold Nicole's hand as she walked over to the wooden stage Isaac built himself. Isaac then proceeded to read a letter he had previously written. As they were both sobbing, Isaac got down on one knee, pulled out the ring box, and opened it. Isaac then asked Nicole to spend her forever with him. With tears still in her eyes, Nicole said "Yes!"
