Fear not, we won't let some forecasted rain get in the way of this long-awaited celebration! We have plans in place to keep you dry, warm, fed, hydrated, and entertained. It may be wise to bring an umbrella though for the walk from the shuttle to our tented areas, and please bring and wear whatever layers you think will make you most comfortable. We have also set up tented areas for glampers and campers to hang out if/when it gets drizzly!
We will be providing roundtrip shuttle service to/from our ceremony and reception for convenience. You can also drive and park at the farm if you would prefer. Please be ready to depart on the shuttle for the wedding ceremony no later than 2:40pm. We will have early and late options for returning to the hotel from the reception. We will not be providing shuttle service to/from our welcome event and post-wedding brunch.
The Cavanaugh Farm is Daniel's family's country home and property in Fort Valley, VA. Daniel, his family, and countless friends have been coming here for many years and it holds a very special place in their (and now Emily's) hearts. It has hosted parties, engagements, holidays, family vacations, reunions and so much more and we are so grateful that Daniel's parents are allowing us to hold our wedding there.
Kids are welcome to attend, but we also understand if you want to leave the kids at home and party the night away on the dance floor. It's totally up to you! To help us plan, please be sure to indicate all kids that will be attending on your RSVP form. For safety, please note that there are horses and a large pond on the property so the kiddos should not wander too far off unsupervised.
We are collecting all RSVPs on this website. Click on the "RSVP" tab and follow the directions to submit your RSVP. We very much appreciate you taking the time to answer all of the questions listed for each event as it will help us make sure that we are taking care of the needs of all of our guests!
There is limited parking available onsite for the ceremony and reception. The country roads get pretty dark at night, so if you are staying at one of the hotels we HIGHLY encourage you to use the shuttle service we are providing. If you are camping at the property or staying at a nearby airbnb we should be able to make sure you have a parking spot. Plenty of parking will be available for Sunday's brunch. If you are coming with friends, carpooling is encouraged and good for the environment!
There is space to glamp/camp at the Cavanaugh Farm Friday and Saturday nights. If you have gear, feel free to bring anything that you may need with you. If you don't have your own gear, we will have gear (tents, cots, sleeping bags etc) available and space/amenities for getting ready on Saturday. If you are interested in camping, please RSVP asap and we will reach out to you with more information on the available options.
The dress code for our welcome event and post-wedding brunch is casual. The dress code for our ceremony and reception is dressy casual - ties and sports coats are optional and more casual dresses, jumpsuits, pant suits etc. are fine for the ladies. Fall evenings can get a little chilly, so you may want to bring a jacket or sweater along.
The venue for our welcome party has an indoor and outdoor space. The ceremony will be held outdoors (weather permitting) and the reception will be held under a large tent. Weather permitting, we intend to keep the sides of the tent open for maximum airflow and there will be firepits and lounge seating outside of the tent if folks want more fresh air.
