DEL & IXC

Due to the current expansion of the Chandigarh airport (IXC), there are no direct flights from the West. Travelers have a long layover at either Mumbai (BOM) or Delhi (DEL) airport before their final flight to Chandigarh. The best and most efficient way for our out of town guests are the two options below. Please coordinate and confirm at "virdiin321@gmail.com", whichever option works best for you, to ensure proper pick up and drop-off arrangements can be made: OPTION-1: Book your flights to land at Delhi Airport (DEL) and travel by road (5 hours) to get to Chandigarh. OPTION-2: Book your flights to land at Delhi Airport (DEL), then check out all your luggage and check in again in the domestic terminal next door and book a separate flight from DEL - IXC. Please be aware that if you pick this option, to give yourself a minimum of a 3 hour gap between your arrival to Delhi and your next flight to Chandigarh as customs and immigration can sometimes take a long time.

No AirB&B

Although for a lot of travelers, AirB&B is a perfect choice to save a bit and also get the most experience of the actual city, its people and its culture, this option is not recommended. This is because after a lot of due diligence the houses that are available during that time and their proximity to all the event venues will be too far, and would create a lot of trouble and inconvenience for the guests. As a result, guests are encouraged to make hotel reservations for easy access and security.

VISA: Unlike any other countries, and from personal experience, India does not allow visa on arrival. Currently, India has an e-visa process that requires taking a picture, submitting the application online and finally mailing your passport along with all necessary documents on the checklist (and can be found on the site). Please be sure to plan accordingly to get your visas in time, as this process can take some time.
