Nearly a decade ago, two New Jersey kids crossed paths at the University of Maryland, and little did they know what life would have in store for them. There was an immediate spark of friendship freshman year and it would continue to blossom throughout their college journey. Joining AEPi, AEPhi, and moving across the street from each other would only bring them closer. They realized their true enjoyment for one another during greek life events, Maryland games, exploring campus, and meet ups at local bars. Soon after, they graduated from the University of Maryland, moved back home, and quickly decided that a relationship was meant to be.

Fate brought us together and after 5 years of dating, it was time to seal the deal. September 7th, 2018 was the predetermined date since it led up to the Jewish New Year and Bobby wanted to begin the new year with Sammi by his side. Like any other day, Bobby told Sammi they should go for a walk on the beautiful Hoboken waterfront. Strolling along Pier A, Sammi thought she was going to a friends birthday dinner until a cameraman started snapping photos, a drone buzzed around capturing video, and a guitarist began singing the song ‘Hallelujah’. Sammi looked ahead and saw her closest friends and family members standing at the edge of the pier behind dozens of roses in the shape of a heart. The time had come to get onto one knee, pop the question, and the rest, is history. Love was in the air, smiles were on everyone’s faces, and we rejoiced on the Pier before walking off to the next surprise. Friends & family members gathered at a local bar to continue the celebration. After countless toasts, cheers, hugs and tears of joy we were finally engaged! We could not be more excited to celebrate the next step in this journey called life with everyone. Each of you play an immensely important part in both our past and future lives.
