What's the dress code?

Answer

Dress code is formal attire. Cocktail or longer formal dresses, dark suits or tuxedos would all fit this category. Most importantly, we want you to feel comfortable in something you like! Should I rent a car for the weekend?

Answer

If you are staying in Salem close to the venue, most things you need will be within a short walking distance: pharmacies, restaurants, quick groceries and other shopping, as well as historical and other sites of interest. From the airport, you can reach Salem by commuter rail, ferry, shuttle bus, ride share or hired car service. Boston itself has a public transit system comparable to other major cities. For guests staying at the Sonesta, we will offer shuttle services to and from the hotel the evening of the main event, or you can take a ride share on your own schedule. If you want to explore the area beyond Salem, or you prefer maximum flexibility, you may choose to rent a car. Both our featured hotels, the Salem Waterfront and the Sonesta Select in Danvers, have on-site parking. Be aware that parking in Salem requires careful reading of street signage. You'll also find three parking garages within a 10-15 minute walk of the venue. Will there be a shuttle service from the Sonesta Select Hotel?

Answer

Shuttle service will be available before and after the ceremony and reception. More info to come!

Where can I park for the main event?

Answer

Hamilton Hall is at the corner of Chestnut and Cambridge Streets in Salem. If you drive to the venue, guests are allowed free and unrestricted parking on Chestnut Street between Flint Street and the Cambridge Street intersection, and may disregard the posted parking signage. Guests parking on this section of Chestnut Street may park for the full duration of the event and during any after-parties in downtown Salem without issue or cause for concern. PLEASE NOTE: Parking is not allowed on Cambridge Street, nor on Chestnut beyond Cambridge.

Are there rooms left for me in the reserved room blocks?

Answer

Probably! We have reserved enough rooms for our estimated number of guests. There are also a number of hotels and Airbnbs in and around Salem. We recommend reserving early, as autumn tends to be a busy time for area tourism.

I'm having trouble booking a hotel with the room block discount code.

Answer

In the 'Travel' section of our website, you will find two hotel options where we have reserved room blocks. We have a discount code for booking at the Sonesta Select. Click the 'View' button under the hotel and scroll down on the webpage that opens. There should be an annotation on the room option showing that the discount code will apply. If you have any issues with the link, you can also visit the hotel directly and enter discount code 090526BLUM_1 If you are booking at the Salem Waterfront hotel, you can contact the front desk directly at 978-740-8788 and mention the Blumenshine - Goldberg wedding.

I want to get gifts on the registry, but the remaining options are too expensive for me.

Answer

That’s totally ok! We have some less expensive items and a few group funds on our registry. Please give only what you're able. In Jewish tradition, it’s auspicious to give money in multiples of $18, which you are welcome to do for our group funds!

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Answer

We're glad you're excited to share photos of our very cool and gorgeous and well planned wedding! However, we ask that you please wait to share your photos until we share ours.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are so excited for you to enjoy historic Hamilton Hall, which is beautiful, and also has limited physical space. Unless your invitation specifically includes a plus one, we're just inviting your lovely self.

What if I'm traveling with children?

Answer

If you are traveling with one of the lucky few young folk we've invited, know that there will be a room in Hamilton Hall set aside for whoever needs to step away from the reception for whatever reason.
