Very cliche, but sometimes you can't beat wandering around the monuments and snacking on whatever catches your eye from the lcoal food trucks. This was the starting point of our first date before wandering further around downtown DC.
There's plenty to see and eat at this location in DC, and is a treasured part of our story together. On our second date we spent time sitting along the water, having a few drinks, and chatting. Then we enjoyed a healthy dose of competition at a fun little arcade on the Wharf called The Boardwalk. And no matter what Greg tells you, I did not break that pinball machine. (Janelle definitely broke the pinball machine. -Greg)
Another option with multiple locations, Ted's offers huge plates of great food for any time of day, plus milkshakes (both boozy and family friendly). Ted's also makes their own pop tarts.
There are too many good bars to list in DC, but Jack Rose is in a tier of its own when it comes to whiskey bars. Advertised as the largest whisk(e)y collection in the western hemisphere, the drink menu is roughly the size of a phone book.
