Question

I have never been to a Sikh ceremony before, what should I know beforehand?

Answer

Before entering the Gurudwara (Sikh temple), please cover your head with a head cover or scarf. These will be available inside the Gurdwara if you do not have one. Upon entering, please remove your shoes. There is an area inside the entrance for you to store your shoes. Upon entering the prayer hall upstairs, you may walk up to the front of the hall and place a donation, if desired, in the donation box and bow before the Guru Granth Sahib ji (Sikh scripture). Providing a donation and bowing are both optional and not required based on personal comfort. Please have a seat on the floor. If sitting on the floor is difficult, benches are also available in the back of the hall. Please do not point your feet at the Guru Granth Sahib ji.

Question

Am I required to attend all events?

Answer

We would love to have you at all events, however we understand that everybody has different situations based on work schedules and travel plans. Please attend any and all events you are able to. We look forward to celebrating with you in any capacity!

Question

How far is the hotel from the event locations

Answer

All event locations including the Grover residence, the Sikh temple, and The Osprey's at Belmont Bay are all within a 5 to a maximum of a 30 minute drive from the hotel.
