It all started at the Illustrious Prairie View A&M University. Charese, a New York native raised in Lewisville Tx, and Cameron, an Peoria native raised in Allen TX, didn’t know each other well at first. They would sneak glances across campus and exchange friendly words whenever they ran into each other at a kickback or SXSW. But it wasn’t until Homecoming 2016 that everything changed. That one day would alter both of their lives forever. A tipsy, forgotten phone number turned into an Instagram search — and eventually, a DM from Cameron to Charese. On October 14, 2016, Cameron and Charese went on their first date. From that moment, they both knew there was something special between them. Around that same time, they were each coping with unexpected losses in their families. Through it all, they supported one another and found comfort in their growing bond. They always said, “God knew what He was doing when He brought us together.” On December 17, 2016, Cameron officially asked Charese to be his girlfriend. A few days later, they traveled to Dallas to introduce each other to their families. Both families were warm and welcoming, which only strengthened their love and confirmed what they each wanted in a partner. Their shared love for family and friends made them admire one another even more. From 2016 to August 2019, Cameron and Charese’s relationship grew stronger with each passing day. They got to know each other deeply, sharing adventures, laughter, and joy. In August 2019, feeling stagnant in Houston, Charese decided to pursue a career opportunity in New York City. Though the two had been nearly inseparable since they started dating, they knew this was the right move for their future. Long distance wasn’t easy, but their love far outweighed the miles between them. Over two years, they visited each other often and continued to nurture their relationship. In June 2021, Cameron made the big move to New York City to reunite with Charese and start a new chapter together. Three years later, on July 12, 2024, their story reached its most beautiful milestone yet. Cameron asked Charese to spend the rest of her life with him — and, of course, she said YES! The love and bond they’ve built over the past nine years is not only a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another, but also to God’s perfect penmanship in writing their ever-growing love story.
