Katelyn and Alex met at Millersville University, early in their undergraduate programs. When Katelyn was just a freshman, she volunteered to help in a student’s research project for extra credit. Well, that very student was Alex. After participating in the study (and passing the class), both didn’t really think about this encounter again until Katelyn entered her sophomore year and moved into the residence hall. Checking into her dorm, she ran into Alex who was resident assistant, fully dedicated to his job on the floor, and did not recognize her from the previous year. During their time together on campus, they chatted and became more friendly with each other whenever their paths crossed. One romantic interaction that still stands out was when Alex messaged Katelyn for the first time on Facebook, asking her for printer paper. After chatting more, she mentioned that she had a biology exam coming up and Alex graciously offered to help her study. They started dating shortly after and have been together ever since. Finishing their undergraduate and graduate degrees at Millersville together, they went through the experiences of horrible tests, projects, and presentations with a strong shoulder to lean on. Five years after meeting for the first time, they are now excited for the next chapter in their lives!
