If you choose to stay at Rosarito Beach Hotel, if available at that time. you may be able to purchase a fast pass for the border for $25.

Mexico car insurance

Purchase car insurance for the few days driving in Mexico. Contact your insurance agent and ask which insurance plans or partners they have that can help you receive coverage in Mexico. Currency/ Notifying Banks of Travel

On average $1 USD is equal to $17-19 pesos. Although credit cards and USD are widely accepted. If you wish, you can order pesos directly from your local bank before you travel (it usually takes 1-2 weeks to process the order). However, we normally just take USD with us or use our credit card. Alert your credit card company/bank of your travel dates and double check that your credit card doesn’t charge a foreign transaction fee. Most restaurants and shops accepts major credit cards.

Traveling to Mexico

Pack your passport! A valid passport is required at the time of entry into Mexico, so don’t forget to make sure your passport is up-to-date! We encourage you to download the region of T.J. and Rosarito on Google Maps that way you can use the navigation without data Expect long delays at the border returning to the US, especially on Sunday.
