Neither of us expected to be in this moment, declaring our love and commitment to one another. Life took us both on very different paths, but fate seemed to have a different plan in mind. For those who do not know, our love story began decades ago when we were teenagers. We were each other’s first boyfriend and first girlfriend—first love. The age-old classic: cheerleader meets football player. We were young and carefree. Unfortunately, much like most childhood love stories, it came to an end. But our love story wasn't entirely done and would go on to unfold unexpectedly..... It’s remarkable how life takes you on a journey you never anticipated and often find yourself unprepared for—one filled with all of life’s ups and downs: heartbreak, loss, triumphs, incompatible relationships, and moments that you will cherish for a lifetime. Here we are, almost 30 years later, and hopelessly in love with each other once again. When you find love in your best friend, someone you cannot live without, the one you can’t wait to share your day with, who accepts you as you are, encourages you, and fights with and for you—that is someone you never let go! And that is precisely what we have found in one another. We complete each other in ways we never knew were possible, and we are excited to announce our upcoming marriage on February 14, 2026.
