How We Met

11.18

We met at the gym. I had been eyeing Michael for weeks. Him being 6'6, striking eyes, and good looking as ever how could he not stand out? I eventually asked my friend Lindsay if she knew him (she knows EVERYONE). She replied "Oh yes! That's Mike! Let me introduce you!". As she drug me off the treadmill over to the middle of the gym floor she stops Mike and says "Mike, this is Taylor! She's in construction, you're in construction. I have to go to Costco with my friend. Bye!"... And there we stood. Both trying to figure out what just took place but we took advantage of the opportunity 100%. Asking what one another does career wise, where we both were from ,etc. The chemistry was off the charts. Within the same week Michael retrieved my number from Lindsay and the rest is history. THANK YOU, LINDSAY!

The Proposal

5.21.20

It was mid-week, Thursday to be exact, and Michael had asked me to meet him at New Smyrna Beach. Mind you we only do the beach on the weekends (pretty much every weekend lol) due to the drive but I just went with it. He had been at the beach that afternoon and I was going to meet him after work. I'll be honest, I was a little curious if he had something up his sleeve like a romantic picnic planned because this was so out of the norm for us. As I arrived I saw he was in his bathing suit (which if you know Michael he is ALWAYS in a bathing suit), wet curly hair from swimming and that was when my thoughts on him doing a romantic picnic went out the window. He asked if I would accompany him with a walk on the beach which I said "of course". As we were walking he found a little nook tucked away against a seawall. He set down his bag and we walked down to the water. While looking out at the water he began scoping the area looking to see if anyone was around us it seemed. I was thinking to myself "what is he doing?". He then asked if I wanted a Mich Ultra (beach and beer is a must for us lol) so we walked back to the seawall where his bag was and he handed me a beer. We both said "cheers", as always, and he began to thank me for driving out to meet him that afternoon. I knew he was nervous and had something he was wanting to tell me (or in this case ask me). He then got down on one knee (I dropped my beer), he opened the ring box, began to say my name and we both began to cry. Through the tears he asked the best question he has ever asked me "Will you marry me?". I of course said "YES" and we were engaged. We stood there in awe of the moment and shared why we want our futures to be with one another. In his bathing suit, on the beach, it was us and it was perfect. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in St. Pete!
