God's Timing is Perfect

November 17, 2018

November 17 is such a special day for the both of us. They say when you know, you know. It happened just like that for us. We were both at Voodoo a bar in Corpus Christi. Jovan was in town for a softball game from San Antonio and I was having a girl's night with some friends. I saw Jovan from across the bar and we both could not stop starring at each other. Every time I looked over we had locked eyes. I had to figure out a way to meet him. We fortunately had a mutual friend that was in Jovan's group that night. I decided I would make the first move and go over to him. I said hi to the mutual friend who then introduced me to Jovan. I had hoped that would happen! We talked for awhile and ended up exchanging phone numbers. Jovan texted me that night and we talked every day since. We had our first date the following week and ended our night where we had met, Voodoo. It holds a special place on our hearts. We both made a lot of trips to visit one another and I eventually moved to San Antonio in June. I knew the night we met that I had found my person. We look forward to our future together and can not wait to celebrate our wedding with you all!

The Engagement

November 29, 2019

In the Gutschow house it is a tradition to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. My family and Jovan were all decorating the Christmas tree and listening to holiday music. My favorite Christmas song came on, Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon. Jovan thought it was the perfect time to propose, something he was planning for months. My sister, Lauren told me that my niece Emma had an ornament for the tree. As I looked over at Emma and she was walking toward Jovan with a black box in her hand. That is when I knew that my life was about to change. Jovan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I burst into tears and said YES! That evening we celebrated with family and friends. It was a day I will never forget.

For all the days along the way
