Our love story began in the spring of 2015 when we were out with friends at a live music venue in DC. In a crowded space, Brandon noticed Megan from across the room and knew he’d regret it if he didn’t walk over and introduce himself. Throwing caution to the wind, Brandon asked Megan out on a date the following week, which thankfully she agreed to. Brandon and Megan had instant chemistry on their first date, bonding over a mutual interest in psychology, fitness, and travel. It was clear to both of them that this was the start of a special relationship. After spending much of the spring getting to know each other better Brandon invited Megan to dinner in the city for her birthday. As a side note, Brandon and Megan’s birthdays are only one day apart. After a wonderful evening, Brandon and Megan stayed up late talking, which had become a typical occurrence in their budding relationship. After waiting until 12:01 and it shifted from Megan’s birthday to Brandon’s, Brandon asked Megan if she would give him the best birthday gift ever and say yes to being his girlfriend. Megan immediately said yes as it was clear to both of them that their love for each other was meant to be. Proposal As the date grew closer, Brandon decided that Megan may suspect he was planning on asking her to marry him during an upcoming Bahamas trip they had planned to see the "swimming pigs” of the Exuma Islands (for those that don’t know, Megan loves pigs). Thinking on his feet, Brandon planned a surprise mid-week getaway to the Homestead Resort in Virginia. On the day of the proposal Brandon planned a surprise horse and carriage ride that took them on a lovely trip around the resort. After the ride ended, Brandon and Megan went on a private walk where Brandon got down on one knee, promised to love Megan with all of his heart for the rest of his life and asked Megan to marry him. Megan said YES immediately and they both could not be happier to be spending the rest of their lives together.
