One week at ECU Band Camp…. I really got to know this dorky upcoming 8th grader named Aaron. We talked, we laughed, and then I just could never seem to get rid of him. We have grown from middle schoolers to adults and have been there for each other through it all. From going to El Jimador at least once a week, to our many adventures in Boone, we have made so many amazing memories together and I can not wait to make many more. He is my best friend and I could never imagine life with out him.
It was our 7 Year Anniversary. It started out with Aaron making breakfast for me and then we prepared for a day full of hiking. We headed to Linville Falls and hiked down to the waterfall where we enjoyed the sun and the water for a few hours. We then went to Flat Rock. This is a short hike but is our absolute favorite place to watch the sunset. We have spent countless evenings there together and with our friends enjoying to beauties of nature. We were listening to some of our favorite songs, dancing, laughing, and talking about life. This was also probably the best sunset we have ever seen there. Aaron played our favorite song “Lucky” by Jason Mraz where it says “Lucky I’m in love with my best friend.” He then gets on one knee and pulls out a ring. I honestly was so shocked and started to cry. We didn’t say anything for several seconds, but it was also the easiest YES I could ever have said.
