We met while I was working as a waitress at Antonio's. Gerber was a regular there. My initial thought was "he's loud and obnoxious." However, it was Gerb's big personality that drew me to him. We began flirting over the summer and I became more and more fond of his "obnoxiousness." I looked forward to the evenings I would see him at the bar sipping on an IPA. One Friday, we ended up hanging out at Antonio's and then headed to IDK Bar to watch live music. After that, he didn't stop texting me and it gave me butterflies seeing his name pop up on my phone. He asked to see me again and at first I hesitated but something in me said, "there's something special about this guy" so, I finally said yes. We went on our first real date to El Caporal and then to the county fair where I drug him around to look at cows and ride rides that made him nauseous. One night while I was working at the restaurant, I told him I had run out of chapstick and my lips were hurting and that I was closing so it would be awhile before I could get more chapstick. Later on that evening, Gerber showed up with a tube of chapstick and a smile on his face. That's when I knew he was the one. I am so glad he was persistent and I gave him a chance because we've created such a beautiful life together that I wouldn't trade for the world.
