In 2013, Jesse and Erin both had to travel to San Diego for a work trip for Helix Electric’s co-op outing. The upcoming semester Jesse and Erin had a few classes together, and the first meeting they both caught each other’s eye. During this semester they were partners on multiple projects. After a semester, they were both moving to the Bay Area and needed road trip buddies. It was a road trip we will never forget.

We should begin this story by stating that Erin had a little too much to drink the day before the proposal. Erin had a few friends in town for Memorial Day weekend, so we planned on making the drive to Yosemite National Park to go hiking. The Vernal Fall hike is our absolute favorite and always a go to when people come to visit! Erin had no idea that today was the day, so when we got to the perfect spot Jesse got down on one knee and before he could even ask Erin was nodding yes! The big moment was just halfway through the hike so it's a miracle Erin did not trip on the switchbacks down while admiring her ring and shock of what happened! When we got to the end we grabbed pizza and beers with the friends who joined us. At this time Erin was itching to tell her family, however in typical Yosemite fashion there was no service and the WiFi was password protected. She called and called and called with no luck getting through, not even the people working at the park had a WiFi password we could use!
