Jhshell Ervin was born in Okinawa, Japan on the U.S Airforce base, and grew up living in a number of states including Alaska, Delaware, Oklahoma and going to highschool in Ohio, before attending college in Florida. Her favorite holiday is Christmas and she enjoys going to the gym, watching reality "trash" t.v, and burning through books, shattering every reading record she's set for herself. Nicolas Gallego is a proud Colombian, who was born in New Jersey where his family lived until he was 10 years old, at which point they moved to Lakeland, Florida...Polk county. His favorite holiday is Halloween, and he enjoys going to the gym, getting lost in movies and shows, following sports, and diving down deep rabbit holes, learning random information and facts about a variety of topics that catch his interest. Jhshell and Nicolas first met in 2015, while they were both in college. Jhshell was attending the University of Tampa and Nicolas was attending the University of South Florida (go Bulls!), and through them both being involved in Greek-lettered organizations. Starting out as friends, they would often go to events, parties, and trips with mutual groups of friends. One weekend, Nicolas invited, now bridesmaid, Hazel (og roomie!) and Jhshell to hang out one weekend. When they inevitably stood him up, Jhshell offered to make it up to him with dinner. Even 5+ years ago, the economy did not allow for free food to be turned down. Jhshell and Nicolas began hanging out more, growing closer, and learning more about each other that many others didn't know. One day in 2018, Jhshell mentioned wanting to watch the Black Panther movie that was set to come out soon but told Nick that she had never seen any of the other Marvel movies. After his initial shock and disappointment wore off, Nick decided to introduce her to the Marvel movie universe. This led to them spending almost every weekend hanging out and watching movies whether it was at home or at the movies, regularly. (If you know, you know this is their second home.) Once their feelings for each other grew, and they officially started dating, Jhshell and Nick would begin building simple traditions with each other. Every Valentine's Day they'd go to the Florida State Fair. Every Halloween they'd go to Hall-o-scream. Every couple of weeks Nicolas buys Jhshell flowers. Every year they make sure to travel to a city or country together that neither person has been to, trying local foods and seeing local sights. Jhshell and Nicolas moved in together in 2020 where he became a cat dad to Lola, whom Jhshell had for 3 years when they met, and together they became a family of four when they rescued their Halloween pup, Luna. Nicolas knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his best friend, and in February of 2023, along with Jhshell's now bridesmaids, planned to surprise Jhshell when she thought she was just attending a dinner. There was no hesitation on Jhshell's part and the beautiful engagement can be revisited on their social media. Finally, after what will be 5 years together, we can't wait to celebrate with all of you at our ceremony and wedding reception on April 12th, 2024!
