Our Story

From a meeting to marriage - with a few laughs (and fireworks) in between.

It all started at a work meeting, when introducing himself Nelson expressed interest right away. A very determined coworker tried to play matchmaker, but I was focused and brushed off all attempts. Fast forward a bit, I needed help with something work-related, and guess who was the only one who knew how to fix it? Nelson. What was supposed to be a quick phone call turned into hours long of conversation that neither of us wanted to end. We went on our first date later that day because the vibe was too good to ignore... we never really separated after that. That date, May 15th 2019 became our anniversary, because that’s where everything really started. We’re not the most traditionally romantic couple. There were no grand gestures or slow-motion love at first sight moments. We just clicked. Since then, we’ve balanced each other in the best ways. We’ve introduced each other to new experiences, grown as individuals, and built a life. We bring out the sides in each other that the world doesn’t always get to witness—he brings a softer, more relaxed version of me, and I bring out the fun-loving, more “chalant” version of him (his nickname is literally Nonchalant, but I fixed that). We’re different in the best ways (like yin and yang). I drive an SUV. He drives a sports car. I talk a lot. He is very quiet. I’m tall. He’s... not. But somehow, it just works. He proposed on the 4th of July under the fireworks—fitting, since it’s been fireworks ever since. Now we’re counting down to forever, ready for a lifetime of partnership, peace, and laughter.
