Turns out, we had a few more surprises for this year. Tim and I have picked up and moved to New Hampshire. I accepted a job at Dartmouth College as the Technical Director for the Department of Theater. Tim has started a job as a carpenter for a construction company and he loves it so far! We are elated to take our (hopefully) final bows from the cities and start to settle up north. We look forward to finding our footing while we learn how to keep warm in the snow!
We met working at a scene shop in the Bronx. After convincing Tim to start using his words, I realized he was so much more than just a grumpy carpenter. Our friendship grew over time. Our worked bounced us around but our bond strengthened. At some point, we'd realized we were spending 24/7 together for weeks at a time. After many years into our partnership, we agree that we are just better together.
Our biggest goal is to run away to the woods. So naturally, we moved from NYC to DC in 2019. Simultaneously, we were fortunate enough to buy our first house (enormous shout out to our cousins: Elaine Evans, Jimmy and Kimberly Hagan, among many other critical players to make it happen). We are managing our second round of city life while striving daily towards the sticks. Tim has turned our backyard into a garden and keeps busy with his very large self made dirt pile.. I cuddle our cat as often as possible and appreciate the cozy little haven we've created.
Who knows! Life has taken some wild turns in the last few years but we are so fortunate to still be on our feet. For now, we're recovering from the past year or so, enjoying our down time together (one or the other seems to always be in load in's or tech!), and just trying to keep on keepin' on! Despite all the wacky turns, so long as we have each other, we will figure it out. :)
