~The Golden Goal~

Back in 2017 - Madi & Geoff used to play at the Watertower Indoor Soccer Park. In one of Geoff's many games of the day, he subbed for Madi's team (shout out to the heartwork fam!) and wowed everyone. Madi would soon find out that Geoff played soccer everywhere in San Diego - earning the lovable nickname of "Twinkle Toes". It would not take long for Madi & Geoff to start messaging each other on the soccer pickup website Meetup.com to discuss their various games, until Geoff volunteered his number - which so happened to be on Valentine's Day. <3 After months of sly courting from Geoff, they would have their first date on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 (Tuesdays are usually reserved for pickup and it was a big deal for Geoff to miss it!) at Balboa Park following an old Orienteering Map from Geoff's grandparents. They would then end the date at Sunset Cliffs for a disappointing sunset, but not a disappointing first kiss. In soccer, a golden goal is another term for "last goal wins" when you are ready to end the game. 7 - 8 years and a gazillion soccer games later (along with a new soccer nickname for Geoff - "Sweetie"), we have made it to our Golden Goal.
