Mike and I met online in the spring of 2015. The first thing he said to me was "are those both your dogs?", so I knew right away that we shared at least one passion. When we first started chatting, I had a broken ankle and refused to meet him with a cast on. So we chatted briefly for a few weeks and once my cast was off, we met for a beer at The Colony on Main Street in Vancouver. I remember thinking he was quiet and I felt self-conscious for talking so much, but we finished our beers and headed to Robson Park for a while and then he walked me home. I had told myself I wouldn't bring a stranger to my place so soon, but there was something safe about him and he was so keen on meeting my dogs. He instantly fell in love with Ruby (of course) and after visiting for a short while, he kissed me goodnight and left. I remember being so surprised that he kissed me, and thinking that maybe he was not as shy as I thought. In the following weeks and months, we spent almost every day together. We went on countless adventures; camping trips, hikes, boat rides, jet-skiing, snowboarding, etc. and our relationship grew. Almost 6 years later we are closer than ever and ready for the biggest adventure of our relationship so far, marriage.
