We met in Brooklyn in a bar named Sugarburg. After having a drink, we quickly realized we both loved arcade games and decided to run down the street to a local arcade bar named "Barcade". Putting our gaming skills to the test, we spent hours sharing stories, laughing, and shamelessly celebrating our wins. We then headed over to Santos Anne and dined on steak and margaritas. We both thought this could turn into something but it was too soon to tell. Finally, we ended the night with a kiss and a promise to call each other the next day.
After spending a year together, we decided to travel to Ecuador. It was important to him that I meet his family; at least that's what he told me. We spent two weeks meeting family, sight seeing and enjoying our time off. On the last day, a few hours before heading to the airport, we walked through the neighborhood he grew up in. He walked us over to a river and began to recall stories from his childhood on how he used to play near this river with his family and friends. Suddenly, out of no where, the car alarm went off. His younger sisters were in the car and I was scared that something may have been happening to them. As I turned around, they instantly started gesturing to turn back around. Confused and startled, I turned around and there he was, on one knee, presenting me the most beautiful engagement ring I had ever seen. He said "This is where my life started, will you spend the rest of it with me?". I was so shocked and surprised that I belted out "Oh my god! you have to put the ring on me". He then laughed saying "You have to say yes first". I yelled "YES!" and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in New York!
