Love is....

Darrius and Micah met during their African American History from 1876 (HST-311) course at Michigan State University (MSU). Though we have slightly different stories of how we actually met, we both saw each other at various places on Campus, and shared a mutual friend that we would talk to about each other - without ever making an introduction. Finally on Valentines Day 2017 Micah posted a picture that caught Darrius' attention and he reached out to her on social media. Shortly after they met at the MSU Library to study for an upcoming exam. From that day forward they grew close spending their time enjoying music, food, long talks and walks on Michigan State's Campus. On July 21st, 2017, Darrius planned a surprise trip to Toronto, Canada where they became a couple officially!

Darrius decided to propose on July 24th, 2021 during a weekend of planned events to celebrate their 4th Anniversary of dating! After a week of high anticipation with hints, jokes, and surprises - Darrius drove Micah to George Memorial Park in Clinton Township where he staged a surprise photo-shoot to pop the question.
