Take a drive to Ocean Beach and watch the sunset at the famous Sunset Cliffs. The views here can’t be beat! Don’t forget your tacos!
Children’s Pool La Jolla

This can definitely be a place to take your kids but not for reasons you may think! Start at Children’s Pool and walk north along the coast to get a full dose of harbor seals, sea lions, and tons of marine birds!
Ho Chi Minh Trail - Beach Access

We had to add this to the list because it’s Duke’s personal favorite! If your feeling adventurous, try out the approximately 2.5 mile there-back hike through sand stone canyons, ending up at Black’s beach. This hike is gorgeous but definitely not for the faint of heart. There are some slippery sections and narrow paths but a solid adventure for all you hikers out there!
