Laura and Matthew’s story began at George Rogers Clark high school, where they met when Matthew joined the GRC Cheer team. Laura was a cheerleader and the two became good friends. When Matthew graduated and went away to college down at Purdue, their friendship did not quite overcome the distance. Laura and Matthew lost touch for a few years. Then, one fateful night in the Fall of 2016, Matthew and Laura reconnected when they ran into each other at a hometown bar. It was apparent that their friendship had survived the distance and time apart. The two began dating shortly after. Almost immediately, Laura and Matthew fell madly in love and went everywhere and did everything together. Through the years, the couple spent their time traveling, hiking, kayaking and seeking adventure with each other. From their first trip to New England, to Matthew’s first trip to Mexico with Laura and her family. With each passing day their love for each other grew stronger. Matthew knew early on that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Laura, and in the Summer of 2022 began to put together a plan to ask for her hand in marriage. After asking her parents for their blessing to marry their daughter, Matthew took Laura on a road trip around Lake Michigan that would change their lives forever. On October 2, 2022 on Mackinac Island, Matthew proposed to Laura. Through her tears of joy, Laura said yes! Since then, the couple has been hard at work creating their dream wedding, and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you! Thank you for reading our story.
