Our Story

We met through a mix of mutual friends and modern technology. Our friends Danielle and Amanda casually suggested us to one another a few times, but we never actually met—largely because Ashton had little interest in dating within the friend group, and mostly because she had absolutely zero interest in showing up on a weekend morning to watch sports, despite their invitations. Enter Hinge. Lauren came across Ashton’s profile (which included a photo with Danielle) and messaged, “Hi! You must be the Ashton that Amanda and Danielle keep mentioning.” Ashton replied, and after exchanging just a few messages, Lauren shared her number, adding, “Feel free to text me—but no pressure. I’m sure I’ll run into you sometime.” Ashton texted her almost immediately. After about a week and a half of nonstop messaging, we finally went on our first date—and the connection was instant. Just nine months later, under the guise of a date for Ashton's birthday, Lauren proposed during a picnic in the park.
