Things To Do
Downtown Charleston
Stroll down King Street for some of Charleston’s best shopping, bars, and restaurants. Visit the historic Battery to see the beautiful waterfront mansions, then stop by the colorful Rainbow Row and the iconic Pineapple Fountain in Waterfront Park. Continue along East Bay Street to explore the Charleston City Market, where local vendors sell handcrafted souvenirs, artisan goods, and food. There are also various guided walking tours or harbor tours offering views of the city and landmarks.
Charleston Beaches
Sullivan's Island: Take a short drive over the Ravenel Bridge to Sullivan’s Island, our favorite Charleston beach town in Charleston! Stop by Home Team BBQ for a frozen drink and BBQ. We also recommend The Obstinate Daughter for some of the best coastal pizzas, pastas, and seafood in town or keep it casual at Poe's Tavern for pub fare or check out the various unique gifts shops on the island! You can visit the historic landmarks of Fort Moultrie and Sullivan's Island Lighthouse. Isle of Palms (aka IOP): Another great beach town that is family friendly and where you'll find some laid back coastal bars, restaurants and would recommend checking out the Windjammer concert schedule. Folly Beach: The opposite side of the peninsula you'll find a more laid-back, eclectic vibe with surf culture, local bars, and a lively pier. Some of our favorite places to visit on Folly include Chico Feo, Pinky's, Bounty Bar, Loggerhead's, and the Washout.
Shem Creek (where we met!)
Also a short drive over the Ravenel Bridge, Shem Creek is made up of various bars/restaurants right along the water for a perfect afternoon outside! Our favorite's include: Sunset's, Red's, Vickery's, Tavern & Table, and Saltwater Cowboys. You can also take advantage of nearby water activity rentals or enjoy a sunset cruise on the Palmetto Breeze catamaran.
