We have chosen to select our own last name to represent the start of our family. After September 23, 2023, we will be known as Katherine Faith Alden and Joshua Goatley Alden.
We want to keep our ceremony small and private as we dedicate our lives to one another. The reception, however, is an open door policy to all our friends, family, cohorts, coworkers, neighbors, his uncle's cousin, twice removed... anyone who wants to celebrate our love is welcome to the attend the reception from 7 to 11pm!
We have chosen to have our wedding be adult-only to allow our friends and family the opportunity to celebrate our love without having to keep one eye peeled for their little ones. That being said, teenagers are welcome as the statistic of them eating a poisonous flower or falling in a ditch are significantly reduced.
Because of limited seating, it is by invite only! The reception, however, is open to all.
We will be providing wine, beer, and champagne (free of charge) to our guests until the tap runs out. You are welcome to bring your own drink of choice, excluding hard liquor as the venue wants to save costs on insurance.
Parking is provided on site, free of charge. No valet is available at this time. Limited spots are available and those attending the reception are encouraged to car pool if able.
As anyone from Kentucky knows, we’re just as likely to have every season in a single day. Expect (and pray for) temperate weather but be sure to have a layer to add or take off depending on the temperature. IN CASE OF RAIN, the Weatherberry offers several rooms, a covered porch, and a screened-in patio. Anyone who doesn’t fit, we’ll have to stick in a closet.
There is a ZERO smoking policy on the Garden property! If you didn’t know, flowers and old homes are highly flammable. Plan to take a short jaunt away from the Garden or the Weatherberry before you’re allowed to light up. (Please don’t make the Bride or Groom remind you on their special day.)
