BEFORE READING OUR STORY, we have been incredibly blessed. We would love to help our local community by accepting donations of winter coats. We will be donating them to Aurora of Evansville. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. We met in the new way many couples meet; online. Anthony was home to celebrate the life of his Grandma Martha Seibert. I was at my house bored out of my mind because there was snow on the ground, and I had nothing to do. At the time I had planned to abstain from dating for a year, but I decided to download the Bumble app to pass time. Somehow, we came across each other's pictures and both swiped right. After matching and chatting for a bit, we realized we lived 4 hours from each other but still wanted to try the FaceTime thing. I talked his ear off for 4 weeks, while he most likely tried to keep up, and finally we were ready for our first date. Anthony likes to jokingly call me crazy after I have done, and or said, something crazy. As anyone who knows me can imagine, this happens multiple times throughout the day. I in turn remind him, 'I may be crazy, but I was born this way. You chose me.' He laughs and smiles, knowing he has no leg on which to stand. I tried to hide my crazy, I really tried, but man did I fail hard!! Right from the beginning. The story of our first date is likely not much different than any other. Not much back story is needed besides the fact that I am blessed with amazing friends, truly amazing! I am not an organized woman, but I desperately want to at least appear as one for my engineer. My friend Kate has always been amazing and so helpful. The night before our date, I asked Kate if she would mind helping me clean and organize my house for a first date with this awesome Type-A Engineer. The goal was to trick him into thinking I was organized and very together as well. Kate gladly said she would help me clean my house the next day. Her girls would play while she and I worked. I had planned to start cleaning and organizing early on Saturday morning. However, it was a nice day and my horse NEEDED me to come and ride. I told myself I would be an hour at most. As any good horse girl knows, this was complete and utter BS. We are lucky if we are able to leave after a few hours at the barn. Anyways, four to five hours later, I was ready to leave, get home and clean my heart out, after doing a little gardening, of course. Kate came over to help organize my process and get me on the right track. We get to work cleaning and organizing. Time was disappearing, I realized how much I have to do to get ready. As Kate worked on my kitchen, and the girls played, I began to get ready. Not too long after, my handsome cowboy walked into the kitchen. He and Kate made small talk as I ran screaming through the kitchen, "You don't see me, do NOT remember me like this." He smiled. The house was still disorganized, he was making small talk, I was late, and I was LOUD. All kryptonite to Anthony Seibert, but somehow, he managed to laugh and stay. The rest of the date was relatively normal. We talked and we laughed. I talked more than I had planned, and Anthony spoke more than he likely every had in one sitting. That night, I saw his real smile for the first time. It was that smile he gets when he tells a truly terrible dad joke, and he laughs at it for the rest of the night. It's the smile that takes over his whole face and countenance. It's the smile that I see in my mind as soon as anyone says his name. I often ask Anthony how he kept himself from fleeing the craziness of the beginning of our first date. He never has more than a head shake or an 'I don't know.' when I ask. I like to believe that he innately knew he needed a little spontaneity and craziness to spice up his life. More than likely, he saw Oliver and Pete and knew he needed to pet them again. I'm good with it. #go-wed-a-kite
