In April of 2023, one simple swipe on Bumble changed everything. Rick and Alyssa matched, started chatting, and quickly realized there was something special worth exploring. Their first date was sweet and effortless, tacos at Condado’s followed by ice cream. From that very first night, both knew they wanted to see each other again. A few days later, Rick found himself with two tickets to a Cavs game, and Alyssa was the first person he wanted to take. That second date only confirmed what they were both beginning to feel. After a few more dates filled with laughter and growing connection, May arrived along with two upcoming family vacations for Alyssa. Before she left for nearly two weeks, Rick planned a special night at Bartleby in Cleveland. It was there, at the end of a wonderful evening, that he asked Alyssa to be his girlfriend and she happily said yes. Over the next two years, their relationship continued to grow. Dates turned into shared routines, and eventually, a home together. Knowing he had found his forever, Rick asked Alyssa’s father for his blessing and began carefully planning the perfect proposal, complete with months of secrecy to keep the surprise intact. On their two year anniversary, Rick took Alyssa out to dinner, just as they had done so many times before. Afterward, he suggested stopping at the Solstice Steps in Lakewood to take a few pictures. When they arrived, a photographer appeared to take their photo, which sparked a little suspicion. As they walked down the steps, Alyssa noticed both of their parents nearby and when she turned back around, Rick was already down on one knee. With family watching and love all around them, Rick asked Alyssa to marry him. She said yes without any hesitation!
