we're getting married

10 hours. That’s it. That is the time frame Travis and Jess had to meet.   For context Jess had come down with her friends to Wells and Travis was going to Alton Towers the day after his 21st birthday. That evening, Jess decided to download the dating app Bumble ‘for a laugh’ and it just so happened that Travis was one of the first people to appear on it for her. Obviously dazzled by his ravishing good looks (can you tell who has written this love story), she swiped right. It just so happened, however, Travis had too. But back to the 10 hours part. Jess arrived in Wells at around 6pm and Travis left the next day at 4am, so 10 hours, that’s the only chance they had of matching. The chance meeting in that 10 hours started an avalanche and ultimately where we are now, a wedding website.   Having added each other that day on Snapchat, they realised they both had a love for video games, however with Jess being a PC player and Travis playing on Xbox, there was only one game they could play together, Fortnite. They decided to play together with voice chat, this being the first time they heard each other’s voice. Travis, to this day, can still remember where he was in the game the moment Jess joined.   Fast forward a month and a half, Travis drove all the way up to Manchester to meet Jess in person. Now, if that isn’t crazy, or romantic your choice, then what is. You can ask both Travis and Jess, the second Jess walked out of her front door, that is the moment they both knew. Following a Kaspas, they went back to Travis’ hotel before going to Jess’ for the evening. This is where they shared their first kiss. What has to be said here is Travis attempted the first kiss in the car, but slipped, fell over and missed. Something Jess finds hilarious this many years on.   Fast forward another two weeks, Travis is in Liverpool. Jess is doing nothing and they decide for Jess to come join him for the day. This is where Travis decides to ask her to be his girlfriend and confesses his love for her. How you ask? Over some Five Guys fries and a milkshake.   After a few months of a whirlwind long-distance relationship, facetiming every night, Travis hearing Jess snoring over facetime (which she is adamant she doesn’t do), Travis also becoming best friends with her dog, Jasper, they decided to go on their first holiday together. Brazil? Tenerife? Spain? No, a ‘wigwam’ in Mevagissey, Cornwall. From there they have been all over the world together, from Canada to Portugal, and so many more. Ultimately leading to the biggest holiday of all, a 30 hour trip to Dublin to see Coldplay. Travis knew mid concert he had to propose as he ‘just knew he didn’t ever want to experience something like this with anyone else in the world’. He then proposed at the end of the concert and here we are.   Life has a funny way of bringing people together. For years Jess had been coming to Wells, Travis lives 25 minutes away. Travis had visited the National Cycling Centre Velodrome for 2 days, Jess lives 1.5 mile away from that. So for years, who knows how many chance encounters they could have had, they may well have walked past each other down the line. But that just shows the importance of being in the right place at the right time, or rather the right app for the right 10 hours.   If you can’t tell, Travis has written this.
