On Halloween night in 2017, Ally walked in wearing an Ash Ketchum Halloween costume and Mitchell, falling for her right away, ran immediately to get a Charmander stuffed animal to complete her costume. However, timing and fate was everything. Two years later, Ally friended Mitchell on Facebook (after hearing he was still interested in her, thanks to her best friend Lauren), hoping to re-spark something. Ally and Mitchell shared their first date at none other than Mitchell's favorite restaurant Jose Tejas. They spent so many hours there, simply talking, that the waiters stared them down hoping they would give up the table. They both loved how effortless it was to enjoy each other's company and talk. Ally and Mitchell couldn't wait long to see each other again and only a few days later went to Point Pleasant boardwalk - which became their spot. They were both surprised to find how they shared a love for board games, candy, and cats. Mitchell taught Ally to appreciate video games and Ally taught Mitchell how to try new foods. Mitchell brought Ally back to Point Pleasant a month later to ask her officially to be his girlfriend.

Two years later, on November 5, 2021, Mitchell and Ally went to Puerto Rico. While Ally had a feeling something special was happening that night, Mitchell was able to throw her off. While getting ready, Ally asked him which earrings she should wear. Mitchell then surprised her with a pair of new diamond earrings. They walked down to the beach, before heading out to dinner. There, Mitchell set up a romantic spot filled with roses and champagne, and popped the question.
