We're excited to share our special day with you and honored to share these traditions from both of our cultures.

The Hora and Chair Dance

A Jewish Wedding Tradition Everyone gathers around the bride and groom and dances around the couple in a circle. At some point, someone brings in some chairs for the couple to sit on, and a few of the stronger guests hoist them up into the air as people dance around them.

The Prosperity Dance

A Filipino Wedding Tradition Lasting a song or two. The newlyweds will dance together while guests pin their garments with money. The pinning can get creative with bills pinned together as garlands, made into crowns, or streaming down their clothing. This is a way to wish the newlyweds prosperity and good fortune as they start their life together.

Gor'ko

A Russian Wedding Toast. Led by a friend or family member of the bride or groom, the guests begin chanting "Gor'ko" ("bitter") until the newlyweds stand up and kiss, prompting cheers and drinks all around!
