How We Met

Just "Friends"

We have met briefly throughout the years, but it wasn't until the summer of 2019 that we started hanging out nonstop. The most amazing friendship was built, and we helped each other through a lot of different obstacles in our individual paths. Feelings started developing, but both of us were too scared to "ruin" the friendship. So, without either one knowing the truth we both individually wallowed in our self loathing, all the while venting to our friends, until we just couldn't take it anymore. We started going on the roof of my (Sydney's) old house every night listening to music and watching Stranger Things. One night I just couldn't keep my secret any longer. As Glenn expressed he felt the same exact way we both couldn't help but feel completely elated that we didn't have to keep this "secret" any more. Building a relationship on the foundation of a strong friendship has made all the difference, and we wouldn't have it any other way!

How He Proposed

Grand Slam!

I went to work on Saturday morning thinking date night would consist of the usual: drive around listening to pop punk, In-N-Out, and hang out, BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. We rode our various methods of transportation (bike and skateboard) to the park with Glenn's backpack full of "charcuterie" for a "picnic", but when we arrived I would soon find out there wasn't a selection of delicious meats and cheeses in aforementioned backpack, but something MUCH better. Glenn took me over to a gazebo that was strung with pictures from throughout our relationship, led me to the middle, and told me to not only close, but also, cover my eyes. When I opened them he was holding a Dodgers jersey, and something in me told me to flip it over. On the back it read "MARRY ME" on the name plate. Glenn got down on one knee and as tears streamed down my face he asked me to marry him. AS IF THIS STORY COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER, friends and family came running out of some nearby bushes where they had been hiding to celebrate with us. Glenn really hit it out of the park.
