Mary and Glenn met while Mary was in 9th grade and Glenn was in 10th grade. Glenn was invited to a neighborhood friends party and Mary, not knowing the host, attended with a girlfriend of her's who didn't want to attend alone. When Glenn first laid eyes on Mary he saw fireworks and had to meet this beautiful young lady!
Glenn's parents moved to Fountain Valley, California in January of 1980. Glenn and Mary continued for quite a bit of time writing to each other and occasionally talking on the phone....
Glenn and Mary were on an RV trip visiting all of the National Parks in Utah in the summer of 2020 during the first summer of Covid. While sitting at the campfire, underneath a star filled sky, next to a beautiful creek, Glenn got down on one knee and asked Mary to be his wife. Mary was completely surprised, and initially thought Glenn was down on one knee as he may be having a stroke (she is a nurse and always thinks medically!) and when it kicked in what was occurring she was speechless but after what seemed a lifetime to Glenn, she said YES!!
