How do two young, dashing lads meet in this twenty first century world? An app that is! Glenn and Ben met online after returning from trips in July 2017. Glenn had just returned from Nashville, Tennessee after attending his Best Woman's bachelorette party and Ben had just returned from Cherry Grove, South Carolina after spending a long weekend with his family. Ben always points out how Glenn was the one who started the conversation, citing the need to build a stable home for Duchess as one of his desires in a relationship. Turns out that Monday evening would be the start of something truly special. After chatting for a few days, the two decided to meet in person in Charlotte for a first date on the following Saturday. Ben invited Glenn to meet at Mama Ricotta's, a Charlotte icon, to celebrate their first dinner together. Ben asked Glenn to arrive early so they could "meet each other in advance" to make things less awkward! It was over pasta and good conversation that the relationship started. After dinner, they agreed to see a local production of Mamma Mia at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). This was a great production filled with animated seat mates next to Glenn. Later, they decided to grab a drink at Craft. The evening was sealed with a kiss!

Glenn and Ben traveled to Cherry Grove, South Carolina the weekend after Thanksgiving 2018. Glenn and Ben's favorite destinations involve palm trees, sandy beaches, and salt water waves. They spent the weekend at Ben's family's beach home. His family's beach home is one of his favorite places to visit as he grew up going to the home for family vacations his entire life. Saturday, November 24th started like any day at the beach--rain and hail storms! The two decided to relax inside and wait for the storm to pass. A couple hours later they ventured out for lunch at Greg Norman's Australian Grille. Afterwards, Ben took Glenn to a surprise couple's massage at a local spa. Following the massage, they decided to partake in a wine tasting at Duplin Winery and enjoy "wine sweetzers" on the Duplin porch. Ben and Glenn arrived back to the beach house after their day while Ben suggested they take an evening stroll along the beach. The couple walked towards a pier and then began walking back when Glenn asked Ben "Why are you acting awkward?". Ben simply stated that he had a lot going on in his mind and Glenn cluelessly stated "okay" and they kept walking. A few moments pass by when Glenn heard Ben say his name and he turned around to find Ben down on one knee in the sand. Glenn had a hard time listening to Ben's proposal as he was in total surprise. Glenn exclaimed yes and hugged Ben as he stood up. The evening was sealed with a kiss, once again!
