a nice stroll around a lake. if it’s hot, jump in at the swimming spot!
The Pier
the walk my parents take every day from their house to a ¼ mile pier. you can also get there from a parking lot and small decline. Jerry can describe how to do that! it’s part of the Bay to Baker Trail and featured in this article:
Galbraith Mountain
a mountain biker’s heaven, but also fun to walk. it connects with Whatcom Falls and the Lake Padden Trail, if you wanted to spend a day!
Stimpson Family Nature Reserve
no dogs allowed. a great place to feel the quiet and beauty of a PNW Old Growth Forest
Fragrance Lake Trailhead
more challenging, with a gorgeous swim opportunity at the top!
Oyster Dome Trailhead
Cornwall Park
very near Glenna's parent's house. there’s a Disc Golf course, tennis and pickleball courts and it also has a playground for kids (with a spray area for hot days) and flat trails to walk.
Marine Life Center
offers a small touch tank and a couple cool aquariums.
San Juan Cruises
the guides are respectful of the whales and go to great lengths to make sure you get to see one, but even if you don’t, the trip is always a blast. this might be fun for Friday afternoon or Sunday, after the festivities!
SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention
this is a fantastic museum for all things radio and phonograph! They have a fun show on the weekends, too
Pickford Film Center
our Indy film theatre, The Pickford, is awesome and has grown to two locations downtown! “Babe” will be playing on Saturday 6/27 at 1:30pm and Sunday the 28th at 1:00pm.
