Ten years ago, on a warm July 1, 2016 night two sisters and two best friends, both showed up to a local rap showcase just chasing good music and good vibes. The venue was buzzing with energy, lyrics flying, beats shaking the walls, and that electric feeling only live hip hop can bring. We didn’t plan to meet anyone that night. But life had other plans. Somewhere between verses and vinyl scratches, we locked eyes from across the room. One of us was nodding to the beat, the other was hyping up the next MC BillyGreen—and somehow, in all that noise, something quiet and undeniable passed between us. It started with a simple conversation: a shared love for music, a mutual respect for lyricism, and a laugh that lasted longer than expected. The connection was instant. By the end of the night, we weren't just talking about our favorite artists—we were talking about everything. It felt like meeting someone you already knew, like the first chapter of a song we’d been waiting to write. What began as one unforgettable night turned into years of memories, growth, and love. And now, a decade later, we're trading rap showcases for wedding vows—but the beat goes on. We’re so grateful for that night, for that music, and for the love that found its way to us when we least expected it.
