Both of us were teachers at Seoul American High School and received transfers to Humphreys High School at the same time. We were friends in Seoul, but only saw each other sparingly in faculty meetings and other school functions, but started talking and hanging out more once we got news of our transfers to Humphreys. Our romance blossomed, and these two years at Humphreys have been two of the best of both of their lives.
Tina's parents were visiting Korea, but Tina was at a school event in Japan for the week. Jonathan went over to see them one night and asked for their blessing, and then took the next day off of work to go ring shopping before Tina got back that night. This was the week before Thanksgiving, and Tina's parents were only here for a few more days, so they wanted to have some people over for a Thanksgiving meal before they left. After a big meal on a Saturday night with a handful of friends, Tina and Jonathan ran out to pick up a few things for her parents' flight back, and while they were out, Jonathan asked if they could make a quick stop at a park along the river where he rides his bike often. They got out, walked around for a few minutes, and then he proposed.
